Vendor Portal

A leading automotive client faced procurement challenges due to a lack of a comprehensive vendor-facing platform, which was resolved by implementing a tailored end-to-end solution that streamlined their material purchase process and enhanced supply chain operations.

Identifying the Problem

In the rapidly evolving automotive industry, efficient procurement processes are essential for maintaining a competitive edge. A leading client in this industry faced challenges in streamlining their material purchase process, which involved critical tasks such as sourcing, Request for Quotation (RFQ), Purchase Order (PO) placement, and addressing engineering specifications queries. The lack of a comprehensive vendor-facing platform created bottlenecks in communication and impacted the efficiency of the client's supply chain operations. Furthermore, the absence of an effective solution to manage PO changes, such as push, pull-in, and cancelations based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) demand, hindered a seamless business process.

Implementing the Solution

Our team stepped in to devise a robust, end-to-end solution for the client's procurement challenges. We conducted a thorough analysis of the existing business processes and collaborated with multiple internal business units to gain a deep understanding of their needs. Leveraging this insight, we designed a vendor-facing platform tailored to the client's specific requirements and industry standards.

The platform streamlines vendor interactions by simplifying the material purchase process, from sourcing and RFQ to PO placement and addressing engineering specification queries. A key feature of the platform is its capability to manage PO changes, including push, pull-in, and cancelations, based on real-time MRP demand from the client's SAP ERP system. This ensures an agile response to dynamic market conditions and significantly reduces procurement lead times.

Our team worked closely with the client to develop, launch, and provide ongoing support for the platform. Critically, the platform is fully integrated within the SAP ERP system as part of the procure-to-pay process, boosting efficiency and seamless data exchange.

In conclusion, the implementation of this vendor-facing platform successfully resolved the client's procurement challenges, streamlining their purchase process and enhancing overall supply chain operations.
